For the first time our university organised a large-scale and unique for our region event KEnEU International Week 2024!

Our esteemed colleagues from partner foreign universities from Germany, Austria, Serbia, Greece, the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic held workshops, open lectures and infosessions during the week.

For example, Hagen Hochrinner, DE and Associate Professor at the Joanneum University of Applied Sciences, gave two interesting lectures and workshops on the topics “Fundamentals of Machine Tool Design” and “Dual Learning. Concept, Implementation and Successes of FH Joanneum”.

Our colleagues from Serbia and Greece, members of the AgroKaz project, Tatiana Brankov and Konstantinos Galanopoulos gave lectures to the public on “Organic Agriculture and Climate Change: Global Perspectives and Sustainable Practices for a Resilient Future” and “The use of DEA as a decision-making tool – Data Envelopment Analysis for business evaluation and benchmarking”.

Johannes Haas, Professor Emeritus of our university, DE, expert in dual education and energy, external expert of the AlterEn project, gave a lecture on “Designing a 100 % renewable energy supply for a selected system (small municipality, apartment complex or building)” and conducted a workshop “Linking energy topics with the concept of experiential education (the pedagogical base of models from Montessori primary schools to dual studies)”.

Natalia Anashkina – Associate Professor, Head of the Department of “World Economy and Logistics” at the Ural State University of Railway Transport, Russian Federation came to our city with colleagues to sign a memorandum of cooperation, and gave a fascinating lecture on “Transformation of vocational education technologies in the conditions of digitalization”.

Osh Technological University named after M.M. Adyshev of the Kyrgyz Republic was presented by Urmat Attokurov – PhD in Technical Sciences. He also signed a memorandum of cooperation between the two universities and shared his knowledge during lectures and workshop on “Artificial Intelligence and Neural Connections”, “Cross-Cultural Research in Artificial Intelligence”.

A great opportunity for students and pupils of the region was the participation of Tobias Stuedemann, Director of the Eastern European Office of the Free University of Berlin, Germany. Tobias held 3 infosessions where he spoke about the advantages of Master’s and PhD studies in Germany, and also described in detail the process of admission to the undergraduate programmes of the Free University of Berlin.

The local office of American Corner demonstrated its work to motivate students of our university to learn English.

Our university decided to familiarise foreign guests with the work of regional enterprises through tours to Zarechnoye Agricultural Experimental Station LLP, Sokolovsko-Sarbai Mining and Processing Production Association JSC, and Allur GC. Tatiana and Konstantinos were interested to see the fields with organic farming, laboratories for soil analysis, and also learnt in detail about the work of the meteorological station. In order to visit SSMPP we travelled to a neighbouring town, which was also a great chance to see the life of the regions with our own eyes. Special interest was aroused in Allur GC where the guests went through the full process of car assembly, learnt about all the processes and complexities of this work.

The opening of the Soil and Agrochemical Research Laboratory at KEnEU under the Erasmus+ AgroKaz project served as a platform for introducing the regional authorities and regional universities to foreign participants of the project.

Professor Haas, as an external expert of the AlterEn project, together with the president of the university, opened the Centre of Alternative Energy on the territory of our university.

On the last day, KEnEU signed memoranda of cooperation with the above-mentioned foreign universities, and with the Kostanay branch of ChelSU and the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after Sh. Kabylbaev.

KEnEU, KamLitKZ LLP, Corporate University of Allur Group, Education Department of Kostanay Oblast Akimat signed an agreement on establishment of “Academy of Engineering and Transport”.

The fruitful and productive international week ended with the 16th International Scientific and Practical Conference “Topical issues of science development: new trends and innovations”. Dulatov Readings-2024.

The guests thanked the management of KEnEU for the invitation to participate in the first KEnEU International Week, and we were convinced of the effectiveness and usefulness of these events for the promotion of ideas and cooperation in the field of education. We hope that this event will henceforth become an annual event where each country can contribute to the successful and fruitful future of the global community!
